Easyjet Baggage Allowance - Everything you need to know

Your destination is decided, your flights are booked and you’ve got a brand new suitcase to ensure your holiday wardrobe arrives in style—you might now be wondering about easyJet’s baggage restrictions. If so, you’ve come to the right place.

We’ve taken a little look at the rules so that you don’t have to. From easyJet cabin bag sizes to hold bag weights, this guide will help you get ahead of the pack.

All information in this blog post is correct at the time of writing.

easyJet Cabin Bag Size

Every passenger is allowed one small cabin bag free of charge. Bear in mind that this bag should measure no more than 45 x 36 x 20 cm, including handles and wheels. The small cabin must weight no more than 15kg, you must be able to lift and carry it yourself and stow it in the overhead locker.

If you’re travelling as an easyJet Plus member and you’ve added a large cabin bag to your booking, you can bring that bag (up to 56 x 45 x 25 cm) with you, as well as your small cabin bag. If you’re travelling with an Inclusive Plus fare, you can also bring a large cabin bag, subject to space on board.

If you don’t want to upgrade to easyJet Plus or Inclusive Plus fare but you’d still like to fly with a larger cabin bag, you can pay to add one to your booking separately. Choosing this option will also get you Speedy Boarding privileges, so you’ll be one of the first to board.

easyJet’s Inclusive Plus

easyJet’s Inclusive Plus fare gives you extra flexibility and a few added perks to get your holiday off to a flying start. You can change your flight without paying a change fee, as long as it’s within one day before or after your original travel date (you’ll just pay the fare difference if the new flight costs more).

The fare includes a large cabin bag, seat selection, Speedy Boarding, and fast-track security at selected airports. You’ll also get a 23 kg hold bag, access to a dedicated bag drop, and a voucher to spend on food and drinks during your flight.

easyJet Checked Baggage

easyJet’s checked baggage policy allows you to purchase up to three hold bags per person, with each bag weighing up to 23 kg as standard. If you’d like to pack a little extra, you can buy additional weight in 3 kg increments, up to a maximum of 32 kg per bag. Each bag must also measure less than 275 cm in total (length + width + height). Either way, it’s recommended that you pre-book online to avoid paying higher fees at the airport.

easyJet Excess Baggage

If you do end up exceeding your pre-purchased baggage allowance, easyJet has flexible solutions to accommodate you. With their excess baggage policy, you’ll be charged per kilogram for any hold luggage over your allowance, up to a maximum weight of 32 kg per bag.

Don’t forget that if your cabin bag is too large or heavy, and you haven’t pre-booked a larger bag or the appropriate seat, you may be asked to check it in at an additional cost. So it’s best to weigh and measure your luggage before travelling.

What is the difference between easyJet Speedy Boarding, Inclusive Plus and easyJet Plus?

easyJet offers three options for enhanced travel—Speedy Boarding, Inclusive Plus and easyJet Plus. While Speedy Boarding focuses solely on early boarding, Inclusive Plus and easyJet Plus include a wider range of perks for those seeking more convenience and flexibility.

Inclusive Plus ticket holders can treat themselves to free flight changes within a one-day window, seat selection, a larger cabin bag, speedy boarding, fast-track security at selected airports, a 23 kg hold bag, and a voucher for in-flight food and drinks.

Meanwhile, easyJet Plus members can enjoy all Inclusive Plus benefits plus extras like dedicated bag drop, an extra cabin bag on every flight, free premium seat selection, earlier return flights on the same day, a 10% discount on food and drinks, and a price promise refund if you find a cheaper fare.

Which Antler cabin cases fit the Inclusive Plus and priority boarding hand luggage allowance?

There is a full range of Antler cabin bags suited for your Inclusive Plus (and priority boarding) allowance. Just be sure your small cabin bag doesn’t exceed 45 × 36 × 20 cm and that your large cabin bag stays within 56 × 45 × 25 cm. Keep in mind that the large bag is allowed only if there’s room in the overhead lockers.

How much is a 23 kg bag on easyJet?

As of October 2025, the cost of a 23 kg hold bag on easyJet varies based on factors such as the flight route, time of booking, and whether you book online or at the airport. Prices typically start from £13.99 when booked online in advance. Booking at the airport may incur higher fees.

What if my cabin bag is overweight/oversized?

If your easyJet cabin bag exceeds size and/or weight limits, you run a risk of the bag being placed into the aircraft’s hold at the gate, incurring an additional fee. So to avoid extra charges and ensure the smoothest travel experience, it’s best to check your bag’s dimensions and weight before you get to the airport.

If you’re thinking of packing in your old case in favour of a new model, you can find a handy dimensions guide for each of our bags and cases online.

What is the free baggage allowance on easyJet?

easyJet's standard free baggage allowance includes one small cabin bag per passenger. This bag must fit under the seat in front of you and must not exceed 45 x 36 x 20 cm, including handles and wheels. There is a weight limit of 15 kg, and you must be able to lift and carry it yourself.

Can I take a cabin sized suitcase on easyJet without paying a fee?

Yes, you can! As long as your suitcase follows easyJet’s guidance on size and weight, you are welcome to bring one small, cabin-sized suitcase on board with you without paying extra for it.

What are the hand luggage rules when travelling with infants?

Travelling with babies or tots in tow? Not a problem. If your infant is booked in a seat, they get the same hand luggage allowance as an adult, plus a changing bag. If your infant will be sitting on your lap rather than in their own seat, you’re allowed one extra baby changing bag (up to 45 × 36 × 20 cm), which must fit under the seat in front of you.

Keep in mind that usual restrictions on the contents of your luggage still apply.

What size cabin suitcase can I take if I pay for easyJet Inclusive Plus fare?

If you’ve paid for Inclusive Plus, you can hop on board your flight with a cabin bag measuring up to 45 x 36 x 20 cm plus a larger cabin bag measuring up to 56 x 45 x 25 cm.

Can I carry a handbag as well as hand luggage on easyJet?

easyJet’s standard free hand luggage policy includes one small cabin bag per person. If you want to bring an additional item like a handbag or larger cabin bag, you’ll usually need to upgrade your fare or add that extra bag to your booking.
